Awards tickets on sale
Tickets are selling like hot cakes to the South Waikato District Sports Awards to be held in Tokoroa on November 21. Guest speaker is Richard Kahui. Tickets cost just $15 which includes supper.
This year’s event is held at Te Wananga o Aotearoa conference centre and due to a policy change at the venue, the awards will this year be alcohol free. To book your tickets phone 886 9002 or call into the Sport Waikato office on Swanston St, Tokoroa. Junior Cycling Forestland Wheelers are now offering a junior cycling section at their Wednesday night club rides with registration being taken from 5.30pm for a 6pm start. Age groups are under 7, 9, 11 and 13 with the riders riding an off-road course at Forest View High School.
Any style of bike can be used and the riders meet each Wednesday at Forest View High School on Baird Rd and cost is just $1 a rider. For details contact Theresa on 885 0366. Run, Jump, Throw Parents, teachers and interested volunteers are invited to junior athletics coach training courses to be held in Putaruru. The Run, Jump, Throw courses will be held tonight, November 2, from 3.30pm to 5pm at Putaruru Primary school, or on Monday, November 14 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Putaruru Athletics Clubrooms at Glenshea Park.
The courses are free and cover the basic principles of athletics, offering confidence and a refresher on supporting young athletes’ development and enjoyment in the sport. Registration is essential so contact the Sport Waikato office on 886 9002. Hash House Harriers This week’s Tokoroa Hash House Harriers trail will start from the Tokoroa Club west car park leaving at 6pm.

New Zumba Tokoroa
Daytime Zumba classes have started in Tokoroa at the Paraonui Scout Hall on Baird Rd. Classes are held each Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting at 9.30am. $5 a session.
