Christmas pantomime in production

South Waikato News - - ENTERTAINMENT -

Putaruru Theatre Players Christmas production is well into rehearsals.

The Christmas pantomime Red Riding Hood by famous New Zealand playwright Roger Hall is due to be staged at the Kensington at the end of the month.

Directed by Tokoroa’s John and Vickey Ten Velde the pantomime has a distinct New Zealand flavour and is relevant due to the fact that the script was written a few years ago.

Based around the well-know story of the same name and set very close to Putaruru, it contains the usual pantomime characters, an evil person, a confused wolf, a comedy duo, a panto dame, a hero and other colourful characters.

Add to this mix plenty of catchy songs. The show will run for two weeks from November 23.
