Harriers welcome newcomers to join
Hash House Harriers meet this evening at 6pm, at Spirit’d Sports Bar on Leith Place. Next week’s meeting venue on November 16 is Pockets 8 Ball Club on Commerce St. The group runs and walks rain, hail or shine. Join this very social group for some summer activity.
Tennis in Putaruru
Tennis has started in Putaruru each week at the tennis and netball courts at Glenshea Park. Students are welcome to attend the sessions which offer coaching and tennis play instruction each Saturday. Contact Martin on 0275 827 760.
Round the Bridges
The annual Round the Bridges fun run will be held in Hamilton on Sunday, November 13. Energize has again organised a free bus to trans- port keen students to the event. The event is open to years 3 to 8 students and costs just $5 to enter. Those interested in going by bus will need to register by phoning Lee on 021 631 491 by Friday, November 11. The bus will be leaving Tokoroa at 6.15am with pickups in Putaruru and Tirau on the way. Students will need to take shoes, warm clothing, water and a healthy lunch.
Run, Jump, Throw
A second opportunity to gain introductory athletics coaching skills will be available to all on Monday, November 14 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Putaruru Athletics Clubrooms at Glenshea Park.
The course is free and covers the basic principles of athletics, offering confidence and a refresher on supporting young athletes’ development and enjoyment in the sport. Registration is essential so contact me at the Sport Waikato office on 886 9002.
