Toko­roa RSA mem­bers and Sal­va­tion Army En­voy Rob Raven were joined by a few mem­bers of the pub­lic out­side the Toko­roa Club to re­mem­ber Armistice Day. Af­ter the short of­fi­cial ser­vice those who at­tended were in­vited into the club for re­fresh­ments pre­pared by the RSA Women’s Divi­sion.

Armistice was signed be­tween the Al­lies and Ger­many at Com­piegne, France to sig­nal an end to World War I. Armistice Day com­mem­o­rates mem­bers of the armed forces who were killed dur­ing wartime and, in many parts of the world, peo­ple show their re­spect by ob­serv­ing two min­utes of si­lence at 11am on Novem­ber 11.
