Toko­roa ex­cels in games

At the Maori Tra­di­tional Games, schools com­peted against each other in tapu ae and ki-o-rahi.

Years 7 and 8 stu­dents from Toko­roa In­ter­me­di­ate, Am­is­field Pri­mary School, Tainui Pri­mary School, Te Kura Kau­papa Maori O Te Hiringa and Bishop Ed­ward Gaines par­tic­i­pated.

Toko­roa In­ter­me­di­ate year 7s won all of their tapu ae games fac­ing Tainui Pri­mary School (3), Am­is­field School ( 4) and Bishop Ed­ward Gaines.

While Toko­roa In­ter­me­di­ate’s year 8s won against Am­is­field (4) and Te Kura Kau­papa Maori O Te Hiringa but drew against Tainui (4). Toko­roa In­ter­me­di­ate year 8s con­tin­ued their form, win­ning all of their ki o rahi games. In the year 8 fi­nals they beat Tainui Pri­mary School 9-4.
