South Waikato News - - ENTERTAINAMENT -

For the second year in a row Putaruru College smallbore shooters have won the Rest Grade of the National Secondary Schools’ Postal Shoot.

The team including Alex Cawood, Nicole Davey and Jack Westlake posted a score of 595.28 out of a possible 606.

Two of the shooters, Nicole, 16, and Jack, 15, were members of the 2010 winning team and were joined this year by 15-yearold Alex.

The team is coached by Warren Wilton and John Henderson, both are experienced shooters from the Putaruru Smallbore Club.

The coaches were very impressed by the scores shot by the individual shooters in the competition, four of the six score cards recording 100 plus scores out of a possible total 101 points.

Putaruru College has had a smallbore shooting team for the past nine years and the current squad practices every Tuesday.
