Party plans busy next three years

South Waikato News - - OPINION - By LOUISE UPSTON,

MP for Taupo

Over the past three years I have spent as much time as possible meeting people, and forging close relationships with groups and individuals here in our South Waikato community.

I have worked hard representing your views and the issues you have told me are important to you and our local area, in Parliament.

I would like to thank you so much for your continued support and for electing me to represent you for another three years.

The past three years as the elected Member of Parliament for Taupo have been a real privilege. I am so grateful that you have acknowledged the work I have done, the strong plan that National has and have given me the opportunity to continue to represent you.

National has a busy legislative plan for the next three years. We have a vision to build a brighter future for New Zealanders; this means a stronger economy, investment in education and the continued delivery of our world-class health system.

Our straightforward plan to build a more competitive economy is all about creating jobs, higher incomes, and opportunities for New Zealanders and their families to get ahead in our country.

Many of you will know how passionate I am about education. Improving education and skills is a critical part of National’s plan to lift New Zealand’s economic performance.

A high-performing education system will help make sure our children and young people get the skills they need to succeed in the future.

I am also proud that National has delivered better access to the frontline health services that all New Zealanders deserve. We’re working hard to grow and protect our public health service to care for you, your family and your community. We already have 2000 more doctors and 800 more nurses around the country, and we will carry on with our increased number of elective surgeries and shorter waiting times.

I am honoured to be a part of the Government that has been re-elected to deliver this plan and would like to once again thank you for the role that you played in helping us achieve this. I am here to represent you and I am always keen to hear your views.

To get in contact with me, or to request more information on any issues you have, please phone the electorate office on 07 886 5554 or email Upston.sthwaikato@parliament.
