Fun en­duro day for kart club

Toko­roa Kart Club, at the Am­is­field Race­way, will be hold­ing a fun day this Satur­day De­cem­ber 10, with celebrity rac­ers get­ting be­hind the wheel to com­pete.

Toko­roa celebri­ties will be team­ing up with an ex­pe­ri­enced Ro­tax Max driver from Kart­sport Toko­roa and to­gether will be do­ing an en­duro race.

Hot laps, which will de­ter­mine the grid draw, will be held from 1pm to 1.30pm with the Pa­cific Kart­sport NZ ProAm En­duro Race start­ing at 3pm. En­try is free for spec­ta­tors so head out to the track this Satur­day to sup­port the am­a­teur rac­ers.

Toko­roa Hash House Har­ri­ers

Hash House Har­ri­ers meet this evening, Wed­nes­day, at 6pm, at the Trees Tav­ern car park on the cor­ner of State High­way 1 and Bal­moral Drive. The group runs and walks rain, hail or shine. Join this very so­cial group for some sum­mer ac­tiv­ity. Toko­roa Swim­ming Meet Toko­roa Swim­ming Club hosted more than 80 swim­mers from through­out the Waikato at the an­nual Clas­sic 2 meet held re­cently.

All Toko­roa Swim­ming Club swim­mers achieved per­sonal best times with two qual­i­fy­ing for the NZ Divi­sion II Swim­ming Cham­pi­onships to be held in Dunedin in April 2012. Bryleigh Tel­far qual­i­fied in 50 me­tre freestyle and 50 me­tre breast­stroke and Kristin Dyk­stra in 50 me­tre back­stroke. Other swim­mers were just sec­onds off the qual­i­fy­ing times, so with a lit­tle more train­ing and work, the club ex­pects to have a large con­tin­gent head­ing south for the event next April.

Ac­tive & Well Closes for Christ­mas

The Ac­tive and Well room in the Elim Church com­plex on Aotea Cres­cent will close for the hol­i­days on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 16. This will be the last day for all classes also.

Bumz & Tumz cir­cuit, ket­tle­bell, fit for 50s, sit & be fit, movit and up­right and ac­tive classes will restart from the week be­gin­ning Mon­day Jan­uary 9.

The Ac­tive and Well room will be open for the new year from the week be­gin­ning Mon­day Jan­uary 23, with the walk­ing group meet­ing for the first time for 2012 on Tues­day Jan­uary 24.
