Celebrity rac­ers rar­ing to go

The Pa­cific Kart­sport Proam Celebrity En­duro Kart Race in Toko­roa last week­end was won by Lee Fitzpatrick and pro­fes­sional driver Micah Wilkin­son.

Or­gan­ised by Kart Sport Toko­roa the celebrity show pulled in the crowd.

Kart Sport Toko­roa sec­re­tary Sh­eryl Mcin­tosh said the day was a great suc­cess with more peo­ple be­com­ing in­ter­ested in the sport.

‘‘This was the first time we have run some­thing like this and we had a great day.

‘‘There are a few things we will im­prove on for next year but all in all it was a great suc­cess with a lot of in­ter­est in kart­ing from the pub­lic.’’

Four­teen driv­ers took the track by storm, with some hav­ing a few kart­ing dif­fi­cul­ties.

Sec­ond place went to Craig Stevens and Gra­ham Lam­bert, with Ray­mond Lin­coln and Rhys Tin­ney com­ing in close at third place.

PODIUM FIN­ISH: Lee Fitzpatrick put her foot to the floor to win the celebrity race.

THIRD PLACE: Ray­mond Lin­coln with his pro­fes­sional driver Rhys Tin­ney were pleased with their third place vic­tory.
