April 6, 2011 Adored chef turns talent to sausages : Putaruru people were treated to a delicious sausage sizzle by none other than Putaruru’s Masterchef New Zealand extraordinaire Cameron Petley.
Last Friday Mr Petley supported Countdown Putaruru in its bid to raise funds for the Salvation Army’s Christchurch relief fund.
Mr Petley, originally from Tokoroa, was keen to jump on board to raise funds. ‘‘I really wanted to help out where I could,’’ he said. The father of five could not spill any inside information about the show other than saying it had been an ‘‘awesome life changing experience’’. April 13, 2011 Pair opt for new look Putaruru teen Kelsi Meredith showed no fear as hairdresser Lorna Jensen made moves to cut her hair on Friday.
Kelsi was supported by her mother Lisa Meredith and her friend Samantha Catchpole who also went under the blade to support the Leukemia and Blood Foundation.
‘‘I said goodbye to my hair, I washed it and brushed it a couple of times,’’ Kelsi said.
Samantha, who was inspired to shave after seeing her friend commit to the cause, has a family link to cancer.
