Exercise classes starting this week
Active and Well exercise classes have restarted this week with Bumz and Tumz on Mondays from 9.30am and the kettle bell class on Tuesday from 10am.
Wednesday is a fit for 50s class starting at 10am and a sit ’n’ be fit class at 11am. Thursday’s Movit class starts at 10am and Friday classes are Upright and Active 60+ starting at 10am followed by Movit at 11.15am.
The Tuesday walking group will restart on January 24 at 9.30am and Monday’s Movit class at 1pm and the kettle bell class at 6pm on Thursday will restart once school goes back.
South Waikato Super Sports event – February 24, 25 and 26. Hexathlon, swimming, skating, duathlon, shooting, Colson’s hill climb, club challenge, target golf, archery, an obstacle course, mystery event, sawing and mountain biking.
An excellent weekend of fun and full-on sporting activity. Entry forms from Classic Hits 97.3FM, Morrissey’s, Sport Waikato and the Info Centre in Putaruru. Entries close on February 17.
Austswim Teacher PD
Teachers from throughout the district are invited to a Water Safety New Zealand swim teacher professional development day to be held at the Indoor Pools in Tokoroa on January 25. The course will run from 9am to 5pm and is free for two teachers from each school in the district.
The course is a great refresher for those who currently teach children to swim or will offer ideas for those new in the role.
