Ex­er­cise classes start­ing this week

Ac­tive and Well ex­er­cise classes have restarted this week with Bumz and Tumz on Mon­days from 9.30am and the ket­tle bell class on Tues­day from 10am.

Wed­nes­day is a fit for 50s class start­ing at 10am and a sit ’n’ be fit class at 11am. Thurs­day’s Movit class starts at 10am and Fri­day classes are Up­right and Ac­tive 60+ start­ing at 10am fol­lowed by Movit at 11.15am.

The Tues­day walk­ing group will restart on Jan­uary 24 at 9.30am and Mon­day’s Movit class at 1pm and the ket­tle bell class at 6pm on Thurs­day will restart once school goes back.

Su­per Sports

South Waikato Su­per Sports event – Fe­bru­ary 24, 25 and 26. Hexathlon, swim­ming, skat­ing, duathlon, shoot­ing, Col­son’s hill climb, club chal­lenge, tar­get golf, archery, an ob­sta­cle course, mys­tery event, saw­ing and moun­tain bik­ing.

An ex­cel­lent week­end of fun and full-on sport­ing ac­tiv­ity. En­try forms from Clas­sic Hits 97.3FM, Mor­ris­sey’s, Sport Waikato and the Info Cen­tre in Pu­taruru. En­tries close on Fe­bru­ary 17.

Austswim Teacher PD

Teach­ers from through­out the district are in­vited to a Water Safety New Zealand swim teacher pro­fes­sional de­vel­op­ment day to be held at the In­door Pools in Toko­roa on Jan­uary 25. The course will run from 9am to 5pm and is free for two teach­ers from each school in the district.

The course is a great re­fresher for those who cur­rently teach chil­dren to swim or will of­fer ideas for those new in the role.
