Crowds flock to Kiwiburn

South Waikato News - - OPINION/NEWS -

The annual Kiwiburn festival was held in Whakamaru again this year with close to 600 people in attendance.

Kiwiburn is seeded from Burning Man, an event in the United States that has grown from small beginnings of a few people burning the effigy of a man on Bakers Beach, San Francisco in 1986 to the thriving event it has now become.

The Kiwiburn event organised by Mark ‘‘ Yonderman’’ Stirling is now in its eighth consecutive year.

South Waikato News went out for the day to see the sights.
