Putaruru Junior Rugby Putaruru Rugby Club will hold a junior Rippa Rugby inter-school tournament this Thursday, March 29 starting at 4pm at the Nola Block grounds. The tournament will cater for years 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, and 7 and 8 students and be mixed boys’ and girls’ teams. No boots will be worn for this fun Rippa tournament. The club will also hold a junior muster and weigh- in this Saturday, March 31 from 10am at the clubrooms. Tokoroa Junior Squash The junior Squash season starts on Monday, April 23 at the Toko- roa courts on East Parkdale Drive with club nights for all junior players. The primary session will start at 4pm, intermediate at 5pm, and seniors and advanced players at 6pm. A qualified coach will be leading the sessions that will run throughout terms 2 and 3 each Monday. Players are asked to wear non-marking soled shoes and the club has some racquets for use. Kiwisport in the District This term has seen rugby league and cricket Kiwisport officers in Tokoroa schools. In Putaruru, badminton has been the Kiwisport focus during the term.
