Creative energy set free at arts show
The annual Glenshea Kindergarten Wearable Arts Extravaganza was held last Friday and was a great success.
Almost 250 parents and family filled the Putaruru Plaza to watch the preschoolers strut their catwalk creations.
Four-year-old Olibia Bowers told South Waikato News that her costume was inspired by Tinker Bell.
‘‘I’m Tinker Bell because I didn’t bring my buzzy bee costume,’’ Olibia said.
‘‘I like tonight because I got a new bracelet.’’
Three-year-old Mikaere Haumaha told South Waikato News that he was ‘‘Maori’’ and ‘‘Ben 10.’’
‘‘I watch Ben 10 and I made my costume and Melanie (teacher) helped me and my birthday is real soon and we are doing a Spongebob birthday,’’ Mikaere said.
Close to 50 preschoolers participated and created their costumes for the evening.
TAKE ABOW: The whole gang is on stage to soak up the applause from the audience.
BEN SCHWASS: Used a range of products to make his costume stand out on the runway.
