Creative en­ergy set free at arts show

The an­nual Glen­shea Kinder­garten Wear­able Arts Ex­trav­a­ganza was held last Fri­day and was a great suc­cess.

Al­most 250 par­ents and fam­ily filled the Pu­taruru Plaza to watch the preschool­ers strut their cat­walk cre­ations.

Four-year-old Oli­bia Bow­ers told South Waikato News that her cos­tume was in­spired by Tin­ker Bell.

‘‘I’m Tin­ker Bell be­cause I didn’t bring my buzzy bee cos­tume,’’ Oli­bia said.

‘‘I like tonight be­cause I got a new bracelet.’’

Three-year-old Mikaere Haumaha told South Waikato News that he was ‘‘Maori’’ and ‘‘Ben 10.’’

‘‘I watch Ben 10 and I made my cos­tume and Me­lanie (teacher) helped me and my birth­day is real soon and we are do­ing a Spongebob birth­day,’’ Mikaere said.

Close to 50 preschool­ers par­tic­i­pated and cre­ated their cos­tumes for the evening.
