I had the pleasure of spending seven months in your beautiful country in 1967 while working as a student of New Mexico State University.
The time was split between Papakura and Invercargill.
I have wanted to return ever since and bring my wife to see New Zealand’s wonders.
While in Papakura my co-workers and I took a bus tour of the North Island which included stops in Tokoroa, Rotorua and Taupo as well as other points of interest (and met some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet).
Imagine my surprise to find a wildly popular channel on YouTube which features the South Waikato Model Aero Club.
I had an interest in model aircraft when I was young but could never afford the sport. Bruce Simpson and the crew at SWMAC have rekindled my interest in the sport and I now fly with an informal group of radio control modellers in Los Lunas, New Mexico, as well as scratch building radiocontrolled models from foam board.
