Toko­roa teenager Jesse Clarke is fol­low­ing in his fa­ther’s tracks af­ter com­pet­ing in the Red Bull Ro­ma­ni­acs ex­treme en­duro in Ro­ma­nia.

The For­est View High School stu­dent, who is the son of Yamaha ace Sean Clarke, fin­ished seventh in the ex­pert teams class with part­ner Mark New­ton, 47.

The re­sult makes Jesse the youngest rider to ever fin­ish the event.

The event was held over five days from June 13 to 17 in Ro­ma­nia where Jesse rode against 22 other riders in his cat­e­gory; the event had 210 over­all.

Riders trav­elled around 154km each day with the third day tak­ing riders nine hours to com­plete the stage.

This year’s Red Bull Ro­ma­ni­acs ex­treme, which in­cluded a host of Kiwi riders, re­quires riders to com­pete in a man-made course in the city of Sibiu, sim­i­lar to the set-up in Auck­land re­cently for the Red Bull City Scram­ble and rid­ing off-road in the steep, rocky and rugged Carpathian Moun­tains. If fam­ily ge­net­ics are any­thing to go by Jesse Toko­roa teenager Jesse Clarke came seventh in the ex­pert teams class with part­ner Mark New­ton at the Red Bull Ro­ma­ni­acs ex­treme en­duro in Ro­ma­nia. has a long ca­reer ahead of him with his fa­ther hav­ing long been a lead­ing cam­paigner in New Zealand.
