July marks anniversary of Winehouse’s tragic death
The first anniversary of jazz singer Amy Winehouse’s death will be marked around the world on July 23.
The London-based Winehouse, who won five Grammy awards for her album Back to Black, was found unresponsive in her home on July 23, 2011. She was 27.
A coroner ruled her death as an ‘‘ unintended consequence’’ of a heavy drinking session that had followed a period of abstinence.
Over the course of her short career, she delivered three albums: Frank, Back to Black and Lioness: Hidden Treasures and the breadth of her talent reminds the world just how tragic a loss her death was.
