As Tirau Primary gears up for its annual fundraiser, Country Fair/Ag Day, a tasty raffle is on the go.

In aid of planned expansion to the school’s Information and Communication technology programme, Putaruru’s master chef Cameron Petley will demonstrate his culinary expertise to the winning ticket holder.

The delectable prize is a dinner party for six, prepared, cooked and served by the chef.

Tirau Primary principal Hamish Fenemor said Mr Petley approached the Board of Trustees with the idea to cook in the winner’s kitchen, with their gear.

‘‘The people that are lucky enough to win will have the option of three menus – of course that will include his renowned venison dish,’’ Mr Fenemor said.

‘‘We are currently working on redevelopment around the library area and hopefully can use some [of the raffle sales] towards that.’’

Of the1000 tickets, 75 have been sent to families of the school and the rest are available from the school’s reception, at $5 each.

In addition to the grand prize, a $100 voucher from the Putaruru Hotel restaurant Masters Table and a copy of Mr Petley’s latest cookbook Hunter from the Heartland are up for grabs.

Putaruru Countdown is sponsoring the evening and tickets are on sale until October 16.

Come dine: Celebrity chef Cameron Petley has donated his time for a great cause.
