South Waikato News - - SPORT -

We welcome your sports copy but we have a particular newspaper style when writing sports copy.

Here are some helpful pointers:

Date: April 9, 2008, (not 9th April or 9 April)

Capital letters: Only for proper noun - John Brown and South Waikato News but no caps for chairman, second division. Do not use all capitals. No underlining. Keep dashes to a minimum. The cleaner your sports copy is when it is emailed through to the News, the more chance it has of being accurate.

Make sure your comments or reporting does not offend and keep to the facts.

Do not put in personal comments or use nicknames.

Photos are always welcome but they need to be large format jpg to ensure good reproduction and, if you send a photo, make sure you also send a caption so we know who the people are.

Let us know about events well ahead – call and tell us or send an email.
