Au­thor charms lit­tlies

Kaha the Kea made an ap­pear­ance at the Toko­roa Li­brary last week, when pop­u­lar chil­dren’s au­thor Craig Smith stopped in.

Mr Smith armed with his gui­tar and ac­com­pa­nied by the char­ac­ters in his books en­thralled close to 200 chil­dren, who were de­lighted with the show. His 30-minute show in­cluded sing-along read­ings where chil­dren were se­lected to help with pup­pets.

Toko­roa li­brar­ian Bettina Kin­chant went the ex­tra mile dress­ing as Kaha the Kea which was a crowd favourite. Mr Smith also signed copies of his books for his pint sized fans.

Mr Smith wrote a num­ber of chil­dren’s books which in­clude, Kaha the Kea, The Wonky Don­key and Will­bee the Bum­ble Bee.
