Man in custody after robbery
An unemployed Tokoroa man has been remanded in custody until November 1 after appearing in Tokoroa District Court last week charged with the two counts of kidnapping and robbery.
The charges stem from the recent Amber Dairy robbery in Tokoroa and kidnapping of the store’s owners.
The 24- year- old, who has name suppression, is charged with unlawfully detaining Hong Zhou and Ming Su with intent to hold them to service, and being armed with a firearm and robbing the pair of $1380 and 10 packets of Freedom cigarettes. The November 1 hearing is for a bail application.
