Students set­ting ex­am­ple for farms

Liv­ing up to its rep­u­ta­tion as an en­viro school, Ku­ranui School car­ried out a plant­ing day Students planted 700 na­tive trees, sur­pass­ing their 2011 ef­fort when 600 shrubs were planted on the banks of the Waiomou River which flows along the bound­ary of their school. Prin­ci­pal Jenny Clark said the en­thu­si­asm of the pupils was in­spir­ing their farm­ing fam­i­lies to put sim­i­lar stream pro­tec­tion work into prac­tice on their farms.

EN­VIRO STARS: Staff and students of Ku­ranui School were out and about re­cently plant­ing around 600 na­tive trees.
