Pupils on mission to sell paving plan

South Waikato News - - NEWS -

Tokoroa High School students are making it their mission to fundraise for a outdoor cafe area which will benefit students in more ways than one.

The Mission On team led by Head Girl Stacey King have started their first fundraising campaign, selling cobblestones at $2 each.

‘‘This is something that is needed at our school,’’ Stacey said. ‘‘We currently do not have a space where we can sit and eat our lunch in wet and hot weather. The outside cafe is is a permanent structure that will benefit everyone. We have gone to differ- ent schools to see what their setup is like, we have done a lot of homework into this.’’ The structure is set to cost $50,000.

The students have 14,000 cobblestones to sell and have a unique deal for those purchasing over 150 stones.

‘‘If a business or person buys 150 cobblestones they will get a bronze plaque to be put in the outdoor cafe. If they purchase 250 they will get a silver plaque and 500 they will receive a gold plaque.’’ Stacey said.

To purchase a cobblestone please contact the Tokoroa High School office on 07 886 6109.
