Bring back Blake

South Waikato News - - NEWS/OPINION -

Through the editor I wish to write to former mayor Mr Gordon Blake.

As you will have noticed Gordon, the current council is out of control.

Our chief executive is making decisions without informing the mayor.

We have an unprofessional bully for a deputy mayor – check out the Genuine Tokoroa Facebook page and see the personal attacks through her comments to some of our locals.

The mayor has not pulled his deputy up on her behaviour.

Gordon, you have given your heart and soul to this community and those of us who remember you, remember a great leader who listened to the people of this community and we were going places.

This year is election year, and I know you are getting on but if you could find it in your heart to stand and lead our community into a better future than is currently being led by this out-of-control council, I would beg of you to do so.

I’m sorry it has come to this, having to write this letter, but as you can see, desperate times call for desperate measures.

M Smith, Tokoroa
