Great ef­fort by golfers

Good re­sults were achieved in the scram­ble played last Satur­day at the Pu­taruru Golf Club. In the ju­nior di­vi­sion, Ke­van Ste­wart scored an out­stand­ing 50 points and fin­ished nine shots clear of his clos­est ri­val, Ron­ald Tay­lor, who scored 41 points. The se­nior di­vi­sion with 40 points was won by Gra­ham Cook.

The day’s re­sults showed that nine ju­niors and five se­niors scored bet­ter than their hand­i­caps.

Se­nior di­vi­sion scores: Gra­ham Cook win­ner on a count­back over Adam Sadler on 40, 3rd Terry Gar­net, 4th Dean Robin­son and 5th Ross Jel­lard.

Ju­nior di­vi­sion win­ner with 50 points was Ke­van Ste­wart, run­nerup Ron­ald Tay­lor, 3rd equal Les Oleary and Mark Hopa on 39 points, 5th with 38 points was Ted Ward, John Lamb, Ken Gal­lagher and An­drew Sadler. In 9th place on 37 was David Hoyte.

Mem­bers are re­minded that this coming Satur­day will see the de­cid­ing round of the Sum­mer Cup.
