Mcdonald takes cup
The final round of the Putaruru Golf Club’s summer cup was played on Saturday.
The men’s cup was won by Wayne McDonald.
Louise Wallace picked up the ladies’ cup with 80 points, second behind McDonald on 82 points were Maurice Tricker and Kingsley Shanly.
In the days scramble the ladies’ division was taken out by Cushla Arbuckle with 39 points.
The days scramble results were, in Division one winner (by count back) Tali Mulafia 40 points, runner up Steven Garland, third equal also on 40 points were Terry Garnert and Joe Mcgee, fifth Kingsley Shanly 39 points, sixth Ian Worth 38 points seventh equal David Colman and John Mulhulland 37 points, and ninth Phillip Kensington 36 points.
Division two was won (by count back) by Brett Worth 41 points, runner up was Stewart Kensington, third Allan McCarthy 40, fourth Gary Urban 38, fifth Mark Hopa 37, sixth Ronald Taylor 36, and seventh Roger Clothier 35.
Five golfers scored six twos, Wayner Mudford with twos on the eighth and 13th made two of them. Dominic Morris, Allan McCarthy, Gary Urban and Don Riley also scored twos.
