Blood, tattoo artists among lineup

South Waikato News - - RURAL DELIVERY -

Blood artists, Crusty Demons and body painters will join some of the world’s best tattoo artists at the International Tattoo and Arts Expo, in Hamilton next month.

Now in its third year, the expo continues to outdo itself; this year features an even more impressive lineup of artists, musicians and stunt riders at Claudelands Event Centre, Hamilton, on February 23-24.

Top of the must-see list for many will be Dr Rev, a huge hit from the 2012 expo, and infamous for creating incredibly intricate artworks painted in his own blood. He will be joined by former Crusty Demons and Nitro Circus rider, Luke Smith, who made headlines around the world by recovering from a brain injury that left him in a lifethreatening coma three years ago.

And to top off the two-wheeled action, Kiwi Jed Milton, the first man in the world to pull a triple back flip on his BMX, will perform live demos.

LA Ink reality TV star and tattooist Amy Nicoletto will be on hand along with film crew, as will Kiwi world champion body painter Yolanda Bertram.

As well as tattoo artists from around the world, the very best Kiwi tattoo talent will also be present.

For a full list of artists and performers visit www.tattooart.co.nz. Funds raised via art auctions and koha will go to the RNZSPCA.
