Make your workplace bikewise
We have a number of events taking place this month for Bikewise. Next week is the beginning of Bike to Work Week and we would love to see all businesses in South Waikato taking part by encouraging their staff to get out of their cars and on their bikes. It doesn’t have to be just biking to work, any biking during the week counts.
This will be a great way to get the family all out enjoying what South Waikato has to offer. Register your business by emailing gillya@sport waikato.org.nz.
If you would like to take part in any Bikewise events or for more details contact me on 886 9002, or pop into 22 Swanston St. Sport review forum:
Sport Waikato is holding a forum for local sports leaders in Tokoroa. It is keen to get input from the community about what works well in sport, what stops it being better, what is changing, what response is being made to change and what needs to happen in the future.
Club and school personnel, coaches, administrators, sport coordinators, secondary school students, teachers, principals and players are all invited.
However, other people are welcome to attend and contribute.
The forum is designed to uncover the needs of sporting organisations and to prioritise what should be done to assist sport in the future.
The forum will be held at The South Waikato Sports and Event Centre on Wednesday, February 27, from 5.30pm till 7pm.
If you would like to attend and give your views or if you have any further questions, contact Gilly Alexander on 027 471 5968 or 886 9002, or email her at gillya@ sport waikato.org.nz. Tokoroa Hash House Harriers:
Tonight the Hash House Harriers will be walking and running from Rosebury Mall outside Ra’s Sports Bar. The flour trail will take you for a 50 to 60 minute mystery walkabout – walking or running – the Runners do some extra distance and rejoin the Walkers’ trail at times.
It’s all about getting fit and having fun doing it. Caught being energised:
Starting next week our Energizers Taki and Lee will be out and about looking for people out in the community being active.
They will snap a photo of you and if it appears in next week’s paper you will win a prize from one of the many sponsors helping out.
