Pedal power promoted
This week is Bikewise week and the team at Project Energise and Sport Waikato have taken the pedal to the metal to spread the message.
The Project Energise team, Lee Fitzpatrick and Taki Morehu- Cookson, rode to 17 schools in South Waikato.

Lee and Taki carried 2,200 tipsheets about getting active, and promoted bike safety to the all the school children they visited, from Tokoroa, to Tirau.
‘‘We want to encourage kids to bike to school, be more active and eat better,’’ Lee said.
The duo started their ride at 6am on Monday morning, finishing up at 3pm later that day.
TIP SHEET STOP: Taki and Lee dropped into Te Wharekura O Te Kaokaoroa O Patetere when they rode around the district.
