Super Sports sensational
Biggest fields in memory
South Waikato Super Sports drew in big crowds and what looks like the biggest field of competitors in its 25 year history.
Organiser Larry Sullivan said the three-day event went off ‘‘perfectly’’.
‘‘It was a large field equal to last years field. We had a group of one of the nicest bunch of competitors I have seen, great weather or should I say brutal sunshine but overall a fantastic event all round.’’
Mr Sullivan expressed his gratitude to the many volunteers and clubs that made the three day sporting event a success.
‘‘It never ceases to amaze me the volunteer support we get from our local schools, police and sporting clubs. With out this local support we would not be able to hold this fantastic event. So I would like to personally thank them all.’’
Money raised from the event goes to a pool which South Waikato sports people can apply for if they have made a New Zealand team and need financial assistance.
