It has been a busy week for the Pu­taruru Golf with twi­light golf, sec­ond round matches in the Brad­shaw cup, the fi­nal round of the Rad Cup.

Sun­day took the cake with round one of the Preb­ble Cup verses Man­gakino at Toko­roa and the St John Am­bu­lance ser­vice char­ity tour­na­ment was played. Shelly Flintoff, St John’s Am­bu­lance of­fi­cer and club mem­ber said a field of 60 played.

On Satur­day Phillip Bell won the Rad on a count back from Wayne McDon­ald.

The win­ners of their Brad­shaw cup matches where Myke Flavell, Phillipa Bell, Stu Kens­ing­ton and Wayne McDon­ald. Satur­days scram­ble win­ner with 44 points was Les Oleary.

Sec­ond with 42 points, John Mul­hol­land, Stephen Thorby, Paul Sandi­lands, Ted Ward and Stu Kens­ing­ton shared 3rd place hon­ours with 40 points.

Thurs­day night twi­light win­ners were in the mem­bers’ sec­tion Paul Olsen 1st, Kevin Ste­wart 2nd Lo­raine Smith 3rd. In the no-golfer sec­tion Grant Brownhill was 1st, Sid Green 2nd.

Cap­tain Philip Kens­ing­ton said the club’s 9 to 3 win in the Preb­ble cup was a ‘‘great re­sult’’. Kens­ing­ton also ex­tended his ‘‘thanks’’ to the Toko­roa golf club for host­ing and Man­gakino for the game.

Next week­end Massy Rata, Myke Flavell, Bren­dan Hansen and Stu Kens­ing­ton will play away in the hand­i­cap pen­nants com­pe­ti­tion, the club wishes them luck.
