Showing the love, photos reveal treasured children

-

As part of Children’s Week, South Waikato Pacific Islands Community Services held a photo exhibition last week in celebration of children and their families.

This year’s theme is: Akatupu I te tango- akaperepereia au (Treasuring our tamariki).

The organisation’s well child nurse, May Thomas, said the exhibition was a special event for all involved.

‘‘This was a very special event for South Waikato Pacific Islands Community Services as each photo of children with their families and their ancestors gave us a wonderful insight of the love, pride and history of each family. The spiritual significance was palpable,’’ she said.

‘‘It is with heartfelt gratitude Mereaumate Vano (Pacific community karitane) (and I) would like to thank those families for allowing us the privilege of sharing their treasured photos with us and the community.’’
