Publicity on clean air bid
With South Waikato District Council’s proposed Clean Air Bylaw delayed, a detailed education campaign to better inform the public is being developed.
Council chief executive David Hall said staff will utilise multiple media platforms.
‘‘Staff will undertake this in several ways by including articles in our community newsletter, continuing with pamphlets and flyers, continuing with advertisements for our various incentive schemes; and hopefully working closely with yourselves and other media outlets to continually get appropriate messages out to our community.’’
Mr Hall said council has also committed resources to assisting with ‘‘one on one’’ and ‘‘on the ground’’ education to households that show evidence of high levels of PM10.
