Pub­lic­ity on clean air bid

With South Waikato District Coun­cil’s pro­posed Clean Air Bylaw de­layed, a de­tailed ed­u­ca­tion cam­paign to bet­ter in­form the pub­lic is be­ing devel­oped.

Coun­cil chief ex­ec­u­tive David Hall said staff will utilise mul­ti­ple me­dia plat­forms.

‘‘Staff will un­der­take this in sev­eral ways by in­clud­ing ar­ti­cles in our com­mu­nity news­let­ter, con­tin­u­ing with pam­phlets and fly­ers, con­tin­u­ing with ad­ver­tise­ments for our var­i­ous in­cen­tive schemes; and hopefully work­ing closely with your­selves and other me­dia out­lets to con­tin­u­ally get ap­pro­pri­ate mes­sages out to our com­mu­nity.’’

Mr Hall said coun­cil has also com­mit­ted re­sources to as­sist­ing with ‘‘one on one’’ and ‘‘on the ground’’ ed­u­ca­tion to house­holds that show ev­i­dence of high lev­els of PM10.
