Fifth spot for veteran men

The week at Putaruru Golf Club started Monday 25th when the men’s veterans pennants team played the first round, and finished in 5th position.

On Thursday, 35 Twilight Golf: In the members section 1st was Robbie Wi, 2nd Ronnie Taylor, 3rd Lorraine Smith; in the non-members section, 1st was Dwayne Bennett, 2nd Richard Van Dyk, 3rd Michael Syben

In the semifinals of the Bradshaw Cup (main draw), Phillip Bell beat Myke Flavell and will play Wayne McDonald in the final who beat Stu Kensington, in the flight Dominic Morris beat Massey Rata and will play Wayne Mudford in the final, Mudford beat Tony Muller. The best scores for the monthly medal where: 1st Ted Bain net 62, 2nd equal on net 65 Wayne McDonald, Davis Hoyte and Phillip Bell, 5th equal on 66 where Wayne Mudford, Dominic Morris and Stan Willson, Ian Worth Ronnie Taylor and Hocky Howard sheared 8th position with 67 nets

On Sunday the clubs championsh­ip team lost 3.5 to 5.5 when they played Norrows at Hamilton. Also on Sunday the club’s handicap pennant team play in the first round of the handicap pennants at Taumaranui. After the round they are placed in 3rd position with a combined net score of 417.
