Why do we need to build en­tirely new premises for new busi­nesses when there are so many empty shops in our CBD that I am sure would more than meet their re­quire­ments.

Just why we need a new liquor out­let when we al­ready have far too many is be­yond me no mat­ter where it even­tu­ally gets put.

As to who cleans up the mess when empty bot­tles are smashed or left ly­ing around or thrown into prop­er­ties, fights break out and in­tox­i­cated peo­ple are won­der­ing around: I am damn sure it won’t be the mayor and his bunch of cronies. Just what im­age of Toko­roa are you try­ing to por­tray to the rest of New Zealand?

As for an­other 24-hour petrol sta­tion; do we really need it? Just why it has to go on ground near where chil­dren play I don’t know, as there are a lot more suit­able sites. There is al­ready a lot of in­creased traf­fic flow and con­ges­tion in this area and now you want to add more with the in­clu­sion of petrol tankers, How thought­ful of you.

Just how safe is it go­ing to be ev­ery day when peo­ple have to breathe in petrol fumes as well as fumes from the in­door pool com­plex. Just where were health and safety on the day th­ese plans were be­ing
