Reggae stars to perform

South Waikato News - - ENTERTAINMENT -

With many reggae bands now competing for record deals and primetime exposure, it was Wellington’s Tomorrow People – named after the song by Bob Marley’s son Ziggy – that was touted as one of music’s shining moments of 2012.

More than one year ago, the eight-piece was signed by recording giant Warner Music via Kiwi label Illegal Music, which has bankrolled its debut album One.

The talented group will perform at the Tokoroa Cosmopolitan Club on April 13.

Like many of today’s acts, the group took to the internet to promote its music, building up its fan base via Facebook and uploading demos of its songs to YouTube.

South Waikato News has a $40 meal voucher to the club’s restaurant, Frangipani, to give away. Simply tell us where the group are from along with your contact details to go in the draw. Entries can be sent to PO Box 89, Tokoroa 3444 or swaikato.editor@wrcn.co.nz.
