Town pride

South Waikato News - - OPINION -

For many years I have tried to encourage our council to take a more responsible and caring attitude towards our parks and domains (with very little success). I now realise, I am a slow learner, that the people of Tokoroa are only going to see progress if they take some responsibility and pride in their town, which the council seems reluctant to do.

Therefore, as a first step, I would like to suggest that people whose properties back up onto a domain or a public space stop using them as a private tip, whether it be Cullen Cres or Dalmeny St. I realise our council has no interest in this matter so I am asking the good people of Tokoroa to show them the way. Let us show them we have pride and we do care and perhaps in the future they will follow suit. R Freeman
