Enabling tap and flow of data
Tokoroa Police have recruited new members to their team and they are neither human nor animal.
Twenty frontline officers have been issued with iPhones and iPads.
Tokoroa Constable Symon Marama-Lyon got his iPad last week and said the technology would enable police staff to process information faster as well as having access to police databases on the job.
‘‘ I’m still learning the ropes. It will mean we are able to better serve our community while we are out and about, and hopefully it will cut down the paperwork,’’ Mr Marama- Lyon said.
Senior Sergeant Graeme Hill is pleased with the new acquisitions.
INTERNET BEAT: Tokoroa police will also be pounding the information highway with their iPads.
