Po­lice re­quest in­for­ma­tion on dou­ble stab­bing

Toko­roa Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a dou­ble stab­bing last Fri­day on Kori­mako Pl and want to speak to the oc­cu­pants of a green Nis­san Navara. Po­lice said an al­ter­ca­tion broke out be­tween a group on the street and the oc­cu­pants at an ad­dress on Kori­mako Pl about 10.30pm on Fri­day.

Two men aged 20 and 34 re­ceived mod­er­ate stab wounds and were ad­mit­ted to Waikato Hos­pi­tal.

They have since been dis­charged. De­tec­tive Sergeant Ke­van Verry said three peo­ple had been charged with as­sault and had ap­peared at the Toko­roa Dis­trict Court.

How­ever in­ves­ti­ga­tions were still un­der way to try to iden­tify those re­spon­si­ble for stab­bing the men. ‘‘The in­quiry team is par­tic­u­larly in­ter­ested in speak­ing to the oc­cu­pants of a green Nis­san Navara util­ity ve­hi­cle that was seen by wit­nesses to drive along Kori­mako Pl when the in­ci­dent was oc­cur­ring, stop at the scene and speak to the vic­tims of the stab­bing be­fore driv­ing off,’’ Mr Verry said. ‘‘We need to speak to the util­ity oc­cu­pants to help re­con­struct the events of the night in an at­tempt to iden­tify those re­spon­si­ble for the stab­bings.’’
