The Tokoroa Bridge Club marked its 50th jubilee recently, bringing together present and past members.

The celebration, which was held at the Tokoroa Sports and Events Centre, was attended by more than 65 people.

Life member Barbara Bramall said the event was a fantastic celebration where past and present players could reflect.

‘‘Our 50th was actually in October last year but we deferred it so we celebrated it on May 11,’’ she said.

The highlight of the event was a luncheon, Mrs Bramall said.

‘‘We had Elizabeth Bristow and Leo Duyvestyn, who is still a life member. It was just great to have everyone come together. Leo was instrumental in getting the club together.’’

Mrs Bramall, who has been a member since 1975, said the milestone is a wonderful achievement for a club that has seen its membership decline.
