Saturday provided perfect winter conditions for golf even though the temperature didn’t rise above 9 degrees. The rain started about three minutes after the last players walked off the course. The Budge Trophy, was played on stableford as a pairs event, with the best individual score from each pair, on each hole counting towards the total. Jane Boreham and Jon Welch combined well to collect the trophy narrowly with 47 points. On 46 were Henry Skelton and Mike Fiddis, followed by Wayne Hill and Gordon Fuller, and Suki Rea and Conwell Duggan with 45. Henry Skelton scored the only 2 of the day on the 5th.

Next Saturday’s competition will be interesting as it is a 6-club event. Players are only permitted to take and use 6 clubs on the day instead of up to the allowable 14. See you all on the tee next week.
