Wood­crafters gather

The Pu­taruru Wood­crafters Club are hold­ing the fourth an­nual wood­turn­ing col­lab­o­ra­tion at Pu­taruru Col­lege from Jan­uary 5 to Jan­uary 10, 2014.

Twenty eight wood­crafters are ex­pected and are di­vided ran­domly into groups of three.

Each per­son does their pro­por­tion of work to cre­ate an out­stand­ing piece of work.

The aim is to fos­ter the art of wood­turn­ing and wood­craft­ing.

There will be a free pub­lic open day at the col­lege, Junc­tion Street Pu­taruru on Thurs­day Jan­uary 9, 1pm-5pm.

Af­ter­noon tea will be pro­vided and you can try your hand at wood­turn­ing.

An auc­tion of all the pieces made will be held in the col­lege staffroom, on Fri­day Jan­uary 10 at 3pm.

The event is or­gan­ised by the Pu­taruru Wood­crafters Club with sup­port from the South Waikato Dis­trict Coun­cil.
