Reggae holiday

South Waikato News - - NEWS -

Classic Kiwi reggae band 1814 will be headlining this year’s Waitangi Day festival in Taupo.

The band will perform at Waitangi- Taupo Moana 2014 on February 6 at Tongariro Domain.

The band began as a three-piece in 2004, with a father and his two sons covering bass, drums, guitar and vocals. It has since expanded to include another five people, saxophone and keyboards.

Building on the success of the inaugural festival last year, Waitangi-Taupo Moana 2014 is a celebration of the community and will feature plenty of Kiwiana, cultural and musical acts.

Last year a large contingent from Mangakino made use of free buses, a service which will be available again this year. But numbers are limited and those interested must register at the Mangakino Taupo District Council offices.

Mr Reader said it promised to be a great day out that would appeal to all cultures and ages. 22: A Day at the Beach, Summer Holiday Fun run by Tokoroa Bluelight.
