A small num­ber of golfers faced the starter for Satur­day’s drawn pairs net com­pe­ti­tion in ideal con­di­tions. The pairs were drawn af­ter the day’s play ended, and re­sults were sur­pris­ingly close. El­lie Dobbs and Chris Beat­tie won on 136, fol­lowed by Alan Har­ris and Teina Paku­toa 137, Jon Welch and Mal­colm Buck­ley 138, John Mapu and Suki Rea 13.

A good field of 26 vets played on Wed­nes­day. Mal­colm Buck­ley and Burn Newth had 45 points, Basil Cody 43, fol­lowed by Ra Pene and Ron Sam­son 42.

The ladies Wills Cup round three of six was held at Toko­roa on Fri­day.

The home team used their lo­cal knowl­edge well to end the day with a nar­row lead over Pu­taruru and Mata­mata.

All the men’s rep­re­sen­ta­tive teams have been in ac­tion over the past two weeks with not so good re­sults.

In the Cham­pi­onship Pen­nants, the first team had two nar­row losses, and the sec­ond team a loss and a win.

A re­minder that the Jet Pi­hama Me­mo­rial Tour­na­ment will be held on April 25 with a mass start at noon.
