Fun with books

South Waikato News - - SPORT -

Fun and learning will be held in South Waikato libraries as they kick off with their Easter Holiday Programmes.

Tokoroa and Tirau library will host the book treks programme and provide a range of activities and books to read as well as prizes.

Children will read three books and then fill in an activity book. Once they have completed the activities, they will receive a reward from ‘‘the little treasure box’’.

This is the second year the libraries have run this programme. Tokoroa library team leader Bettina Kinchant said children enjoyed the activities last year.

‘‘It’s good fun, I’ve had lots of good comments,’’ she said.

Children can collect the activities any time until May 2.

At the Putaruru library, crafts and stories are the main attraction. The library will host two sessions of story telling and making crafts. Putaruru library team leader Pamela Reed said numbers in the last two years made the programme ‘‘worthwhile’’.
