Where did it start?

1963- First recorded lawn mower races in Twelve Mile, In­di­ana. Win­ner of the first race, Phil Eck­el­barger from Peru.

2003- New Zealand’s first mower racer event was held at Omoko­roa School near Tau­ranga as part of their school gala.

2007- The first race meet­ing in Feild­ing was at the Manawatu Gar­den Fes­ti­val and has been a reg­u­lar fea­ture of that fes­ti­val.

What your mower needs to be checked for: The blades re­moved Kill switch fit­ted No ATV bal­loon type tyres or Trac­tor type tread Chain / belt guards in place and ser­vice­able Petrol tank mounted cor­rectly and se­curely Petrol tank con­struc­tion of an ap­proved type
