Aviator in trouble after online stunt

A Tokoroa person will not be flying high after being caught breaking the rules while operating a model aircraft. The person in question posted a YouTube video of himself flying the aircraft at Lake Moana-nui without the South Waikato District Council’s approval. And because the person did not have ‘‘wings’’ and was flying above people in a public place the Civil Aviation Authority [CAA] may take action. Mayor Neil Sinclair said the council is yet to hear from the CAA but said the rules are there for a reason. ‘‘Flying over people is a little scary isn’t it,’’ he said.
