Proportional representation is all about giving smaller parties a chance to become part of our parliamentary system.
The reason the two main parties court the support of smaller parties is because they need them as coalition partners to get their policies through.
It’s good to keep in mind that the party vote should go to whichever party would make the best coalition partner.
