Eleventh arson attack
Another eruption of flames from an Elizabeth Dr home takes the total number of suspected arson attacks on the property to 11.
Tokoroa chief fire officer Dave Morris said two crews were called out to the burning house at about 1.30am on Saturday morning.
‘‘ When they [ the firefighters] arrived, the back end of the house was well involved too. Mostly we just extinguished it.’’
He said police attended the suspicious fire and Fire Safety New Zealand is now investigating it as the eleventh arson attack in the past 14 months.
The South Waikato District Council issued a dangerous building notice on August 7 for the burnt out house plaguing the lives of Tokoroa’s fire fighters but Morris said they are still waiting for the process to be followed through.
