Charging bad form

South Waikato News - - OPINION -

How many times over the years have we heard people say they do not shop in Tokoroa?

The reply is always the shop owners charge too much, no service and attitude we could not care less about.

Not all shop owners are like this so it is unfair to judge, but I came across one long-standing business that appears to have this attitude.

My passport had to be renewed. I went to our local travel agent to pick up the form I required, these in a nice plastic stand with a sign saying $1 each. I walked out and decided I would wait until I was in Rotorua, there the travel agents give them away for free.

When I made inquiries at these travel agents they told me internal affairs supplied them to travel agents free of charge.

Why, when people are struggling to make ends meet do we tolerate this sort of behaviour?

H Lodge, Tokoroa.
